Good Points About the Asus EEE Pad:
Cost: In comparison with other Ansroid tablets with similar specifications, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Eee Pad is somewhat cheaper, which might be a significant edge for those with an eye on budget. It uses the same processor as the Galaxy Tab, which makes it equally as powerful as its more highly-priced rivals!
Cameras: The Eee Pad has two cameras. The 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera is good enough for video chat over the internet. But the real story is on the rear camera. At 5 megapixels, it’s one of the best quality options currently available in a tablet PC. The camera can even record HD videos, and then you can connect it up to your big screen HD TV to watch the footage, via a HDM cable.
Flash: One massive advantage obver the iPad is that the EEE pad supports Flash content. So you’ll be able to watch Flash video, surf Flash-based sites, and play Flash games – which is massively important to almost every Facebook gamer, since nearly every Facebook game is coded in Flash. Although other tablets which don’t support Flash try to use other alternative technologies, not all sites are supported – so it’s good to know that you won’t have any problems on the EEE Pad, no matter what site you’re on.
Screen: Screen size is a massive 12 inches, knocking out most rival tablets. The possiblities for watching movies, videos, presentations etc are excellent. Even just typing is easier since the keyboard is more visible. The screen is HD and made of “Gorilla Glass” which makes it tough and scratch-resistant.
Battery Life: With 9 hours in the batteries, the Asus Eee Pad gives extreme portability. Better still, if you use it with the keyboard dock, you can extend the life to 16 hours in total, way beyond what is offered by any other tablet on the market. If you work away from a power source a lot, this could be a major factor for you.
Micro-SD Card Slot: This tablet comes with an additional card slot so that you can expand the storage. The tablet comes in 16gb or 32gb versions, so you already have a good amount to start off with. The extra slot really gives you a great capacity for adding movies, songs, etc. This is a big plus compared to the iPad or Galaxy Tab.
Keyboard Dock Accessory – The Eee Pad Transformer: Wow! Asus have designed the Eee Pad Transformer not only as a keyboard dock for this tablet, it also brings many other features. The transformer isn’t shipped with the device,so you will need to spend a little extra, but you will gain the following benefits:
- Android function keys
- Two USB ports for connecting external devices or storage
- A card reader which can read SD cards from cameras or other hardware, and can even write from your tablet to the card
The Transformeris a truly revolutionary add-on which really bridges the gap between a tablet and a desktop – effectively it transforms your tablet PC into a netbook. It makes typing incredibly comfortable and multitasking is simple – a great advantage for anyone using their tablet for work or study. The Transformer turns the device into something that looks like a stylish laptop.
Bad Points About The Asus EEE Pad:
Charger: It’s a good thing the EEE Pad is so portable, because the included cord on the charger is stupidly and frustratingly short! Your EEE Pad will have to be right next to a power outlet while it’s charging, making it very hard to continue working while it’s plugged in.
No Availability for 3G: This is a real problem if you need a tablet that you can connect to the internet anywhere. Of course it comes with built-in Wi-Fi, and therefore doesn’t cost you anything to use wirelessly, many people have a need of connection while on the move, not just at wi-fi hotspots.
Weight: It’s nowhere near as heavy as a laptop, but the EEE Pad still outweighs the iPad by a whole pound – doesn’t sound like much, but when you’re using it in your hand rather than on a desktop, it could get tiring.
Conclusion
The EEE Pad really stands out as being the only tablet available which has such a stylish and unique accessory to turn it into something that can perform like a desktop computer. You’ll be able to work with this tablet as if you were sitting at your desk, and yet it’s totally portable and has a long enough battery life to stay on the move all day. If this sounds like it could meet your needs then the Asus EEE Pad could be the tablet PC for you!
